Refurbished or brand new?

I have been wondering if I should get a refurbished steam deck or a brand new one. The thing that makes me hesitate is the fact that most refurbished things tend to wear out quicker than a brand new one. But on the other hand I feel like that a lot of people who got a steam deck get problems with it.
