Was I Really Overreacting by Walking Away From My Girlfriend’s Constant Mind Games? AIO

❤️‍🩹 relationship

When we first met, she was sweet and shy, inviting me over for cake with her friends, texting me cute things, acting like she genuinely wanted me around. But soon, everything became confusing.

She’d cancel plans last minute, say I didn’t love her, claim I’d get tired of her, or tell me to “just find someone else.” If I made any small complaint, she’d threaten to leave. She’d say people were asking if she was single — like she wanted to make me jealous.

I kept trying. I brought her chocolates, waited outside just to see her, but she’d tell me not to come in. At a party, she introduced me as her boyfriend… then later suggested we download a dating app to “find a hot girl” for me — in front of everyone.

She hid her social media, guarded her phone, gave excuses. Whenever I opened up, she’d pull away. She said she had insecurities, that people had abandoned her in the past, so I told myself to be patient. But the cycle never stopped.

When I finally ended things, she cried, blocked me, then messaged that I destroyed her happiness and abandoned her. Her mom even called me to ask if I still loved her. Meanwhile, I saw her back on dating apps right after our breakup.

I’m left questioning everything — did I give up too soon? Should I have stayed? Am I really the bad guy here?

So… was I overreacting for walking away from someone whose actions were making me feel lost and emotionally drained?
