Speculative Framework – Could Observer Alignment Determine What Becomes Observable?
Hi all,
I’ve been exploring a speculative framework with the help of AI called Resonant Information Resolution (RIR). It’s not peer-reviewed, but I’m sharing it here for constructive feedback, as I think it touches on interesting questions in information theory and quantum observation. This is just a overview to present the idea.
The Core Idea:
Instead of the universe “sending” information via particles or waves, this theory proposes that all information already exists in a structured field—like a persistent informational substrate. What we detect or measure is resolved through alignment—a match between the observer (or measuring instrument) and the structure of this field.
Think of it like tuning a radio: the signal isn’t created when you hear it—you’re just resolving what’s already there because your receiver is tuned correctly.
Key Concepts:
- Resolution ≠ Transmission: Measurement is the act of resolving information already embedded in space, not receiving it across distance.
- Harmonic Alignment: Access depends on the observer’s structure being harmonically compatible with part of the field.
- Direct Interaction Bypasses Alignment: For example, if a meteor hits you, the information is forced into your experience—no alignment necessary.
- Potential Application: AI and quantum computing could simulate “access functions” instead of physical models, predicting what could be observable based on alignment instead of known data streams.
Thought Experiment:
Two observers analyze the same quantum event. One is properly “aligned” and resolves structure clearly; the other is slightly out of phase and sees noise or nothing at all. Both are in range—but only one is structurally synchronized with the phenomenon.
Clarification:
This is not suggesting consciousness causes collapse, nor does it deny existing physics. It’s intended as a complementary model focusing on access mechanics over signal transmission.
I’ve written a longer concept doc outlining possible predictions and tests (with clearly stated speculation). Would anyone here be interested in a deeper breakdown, or willing to critique the underlying assumptions? Especially those in quantum measurement, information theory, or philosophy of science?
Thanks for reading—and again, this is speculative, not an attempt at replacement theory.
