Trying to figure out legality in Michigan of living in some land

We are hoping to find some land with utilities so we can live in our rv while we save up to build or buy a house. But I’m struggling to find anything definitive about legality. We are in SW Michigan, probably would buy in Van Buren county. Any advice/explanations appreciated :)
