How can I make my dream of traveling the world come true without doing a traditional job?
Hey, I’m 16 years old, originally from Croatia, and I live in Germany now. I’m currently in 9th grade, and like most students here, I’m being asked what I want to do after school — whether I’ll go to Fachoberschule (a higher secondary school that leads to university) or start an Ausbildung (a vocational training program).
But to be honest, I’ve never really seen myself working a normal, traditional job. I don’t want to sit in an office or do the same thing every day for the rest of my life. My dream is to travel the world, experience new places, meet different people, and not have to constantly stress about money while doing it.
I know that sounds big — maybe unrealistic to some — but I’m serious about it. I just don’t really know how to make it happen. The only thing I can imagine right now that might make this possible is working online or building something flexible that allows me to earn money remotely. But I don’t know where to start or what’s even real and what’s just hype online.
I’m not lazy, and I’m willing to work hard — I just want to work on something that actually excites me or gets me closer to the life I want. I don’t hate the idea of working — I just hate the idea of wasting years doing something I don’t care about.
So I’m asking: How can I make this kind of life possible? What steps should I take now, at 16, to work toward a future where I can travel and live freely?
Any advice, real experiences, or tips would mean a lot. Thanks for reading.
