Why is my shadow level cap higher than my friends?

As you can see in the first two pictures my account is level 30/ ss rank and my ss wevil lvl cap is 265. My friends account in the 3rd and 4th picture is level 23 and ss rank. His ss wevil level cap is 240. I am 7 levels higher than him but that shouldn't make a difference right? Can anyone make sense of this???
