AIO for being hurt at the fact my friend didn't accept her birthday present I got her?

👥 friendship

I 19F have made a lot of friends when I started my job last year. All the girls in my department have become close and we all hang out a lot. One of my friends (I'm gonna call her Katie) (f19) just had a birthday and wanted to get her something.

Because her fiance got her a record player as an early birthday present, I went to the store and bought her a vinyl of one of her favorite artists and some other things I figured she would like. I wanted to meet up with her but our schedules didn't line up too well for that week so I told her I would just bring it to work so she could take it home. I put it in the corner by her locker where she could see it in hopes she would take it with her when we got off. I also sent her a picture of where it was in case she didn't see it when she walked in.

A few days later I got really sick and had been unable to work and called out or got people to cover my shift. I went back today and saw it in the corner where I had left it. She hadnt touched it or grabbed anything because the vinyl and other things were sticking out of the bag. I wondered if maybe she's been sick too and was out of work. I asked abiither coworker of mine and she said Katie has been working a lot since her birthday.

I feel so sad and hurt. I feel like she didn't even want it. How do you go two weeks and forget about it? Its in a bright blue bag with hot pink tissue paper and has her name on it that I wrote, so its not like she couldnt see it or didn't know it was for her. Am I overreacting by being hurt? I'm a really sensitive person and I'm hoping maybe its not as big a deal as it feels. But my heart is kinda crushed and I'm trying to stop crying before I go on my break again. I used the last of my money to get that for her and I feel like she doesn't even care. Did she see it and not like it? I don't know how to feel.
