2.5 weeks post-op pain/soreness
Hi all! I’m (28F) about 2.5 weeks post-op and had the following:
- Anterior and anterior superior tear repair
- Femoral osteoplasty
- Synovectomy
- Iliopsoas lengthening
- Capsular plication
I was prescribed oxycodone (as needed), aspirin (2x for two weeks low dose), and Tylenol as needed. I stopped taking oxy about 3 days after, but have taken Tylenol 1000mg twice a day as needed.
I’m experiencing a lot of soreness and mild pain in the hinge area of my hip and I’m worried that the Tylenol isn’t really helping. Should I try ibuprofen or naproxen? My doctor’s instructions mention Tylenol specifically but doesn’t say not to use the NSAIDs. I am noticing more pain the past few days since my PT has become more (intensity of exercises and volume).
I’ve also been bad and have walked around a tiny bit without the crutches when I’m home alone in order to carry things, so I’m also a little freaked out that I’ve compromised my recovery.
Any input/thoughts is appreciated. Thanks!!
