What did you start with?

Hi! So I picked up oil paints yesterday and since then I’ve painted two little paintings. I don’t have any prior experience or knowledge about painting in general. I’m just happy holding a paintbrush.

1. Landscape- followed a YouTube tutorial and it turned out to be too advanced. My painting didn’t turn out anything like the video. It wasn’t a therapeutic experience at all. At one point I stopped being able to tell the green and blue colors apart.

2. A teapot.

So my question is - What did you first paint? Were you proud of it and kept it? And if you studied art and went to school for this then what do they start painting first? What would you recommend i try painting to get better?
