Too old to start going to locals and playing competitively?

I've always wanted to go tournaments but never ended up going cause non of my friends ever really played smash. I don't really care about being bad or the worst player there, but im worried being 25 would make me the oldest person there or worse make me look like a weirdo. Is there anyone in their mid twenty's that go or should I just find something else to pickup as a hobby?
