Is an IUD displacing itself an immediate emergency?

NSFWMistake or Risk?

IUD type: Paragard

Wasn’t sure which flair to use, I’m sorry if this id the wrong one.

Hi! So, I'm 11 weeks postpartum and got the Paragard IUD at 6 weeks. I got it done at my 6-week checkup, and the insertion went really well. Well, kind of. I didn't feel any pain, really, at all. The issue there was that my doctor had to do this procedure twice. They got a new placement thing to put the IUD in, and she did not know how to use it the first time. So she put the entire thing in, she did the whole procedure once, but then was not able to get the IUD actually placed. So then she had to take it out, take everything out, and restart with a new thing. It sucked, but I didn't feel any pain, which was awesome. But yeah, I went through the procedure twice in, like, ten minutes.

Well, I'm 11 weeks postpartum now, and a few days ago, my partner was able to notice that he could feel the metal. I've been able to feel the strings more, but I just kind of assumed that was okay. I looked it up and it said it was okay, so I didn't really think much of it. But when he said he could feel the metal, that freaked me out. So I checked, and yeah, I can feel the metal. I had some really heavy bleeding a couple of days ago, but it's gotten lighter. I'm just having, like, some spotting at this point. But my cramping has been getting worse over the last few days. It's just progressively getting worse. Right now, it's been bad for like two hours. It's not to the point where I'm just, like, dying on the floor, but it's bad enough I’m like “ow!”

I called my doctor's office yesterday, so Saturday, and they told me that because I wasn't bleeding like crazy or having extremely, extremely painful cramping, I could wait until Monday to call the office and go in. The pain is getting worse, but I'm just not sure if this is an emergency?

I've been reading the possibilities of what's going on, and they're all kind of scary, so I'm just wondering what y'all's opinions are. This is my first time ever getting an IUD, ever, so I'm just really not sure what to do here.
