Upgrade to hydrolic steering

Have a 40hp evinrude on a 24 foot pontoon that the steering cable is stuck. Should it just be upgraded to a hydrolic system or stay with the cable. If I keep this I plan on updating and increasing the motor as well. Maybe to 115 hp. Looking for the best options. Thanks
