Vent about Dealership service pricing

Background: I took delivery of my 2024 CX5 in September last year and on Saturday, I took it in for its second oil change ( is now @ 6500 miles) - service manager recommended that I do the first oil change @ 2500!

Everything is fine except that the engine and cabin air filters needed immediate replacement at a quoted total price very close to $300. As I am very comfortable in doing routine vehicle maintenance (thanks SADF Amoured Corp!), I decided to do the replacement myself.

The parts (yes original equipment equivalent) cost me less than $30 for both air filters and the total effort was maybe 15 minutes. And yes, I did check that there wasn’t any dirt in the engine air box (G00gle and UTube had many very helpful and pertinent suggestions and comments.)
