Reducing dance financial burden

Hello I'm looking for ideas of how some of your dance companies run in regards to costumes.

My daughter was a part of a another dance company who fundraised for competition fees and costumes by running a dance competition. They would look at the money they made at the competition to assess how much they would pay out back to families(ex. 75%, 90%, of fees paid, etc) at the end of the year.

I'm looking to do something similar but am really interested to hear how other commitees run theirs.

The tentative plan for this one is mandatory fundraising throughout the year with the intent to cover all costume fees. AND create a costume library from "old" costumes to shop from in coming years. This would include post dated cheques until costumes come back in sellable or reusable shape.
