Creator Burnout- Entitlement, Inconsistent JAI & Userbase Shift
I don't need to tell anyone here that JAI has been wonky lately. From unannounced updates, hard and unexpected site crashes, not to mention the JLLM being bonkers up and down.
Beyond that though I have noticed something. Creators I love have been either deleting or going quiet, releasing less often or banned. Additionally, I find myself at the end of a short rope as a creator. The demand from user entitlement can be really harsh and like emotional whiplash.
I see complains about not enough 'in depth' character- but then users balk at the idea of using proxy that can handle a 2k+ token character with lore that JLLM can't use functionally.
I get reviews and have seen them on mutual creators bots, users asking for the most basic narratives and eliminating any nuance or creativity on story based bots. Not everything is going to be in asterisks and no, it's not okay to demand creators change their writing style. ( Emphasis on demand)
To be honest, I was away from the site for a little, not as active and right now I'm more discouraged because it seems like users will demand a lot from creators who are doing this for fun, for free. Sometimes feeling like your very own creativity is being objectified and all you see is demand after demand between people asking simple questions that can be googled or in FAQ is exhausting.
So the influx of users seems to keep pouring in, which is great. The minors are too though, and it feels like the most demanding people are the ones using my female bots or sound like minors.
Idk- thanks for coming to my tedtalk, or crashout? I forgot what my point was.
Be nice to the creators and just say please for the love of god.
