Okay.. so i'm 16 and have been doing art for about 3 years now, and I want to be able to get into art school and persue art as a career (i don't know what specifically yet). However, everyone around me tells me how good my art is, but somehow I don't belive it😭. so, i'm just going to post some of my art on here and give brief context to each piece, i want to know wether i need to improve in technique, imagination, creativity.. ect. 

slide 1: Competition project for the theme: Know your worth, used metallic paint market and acyrlics, this was inspired by kintsugi (japanese art of repairing broken pottery with fold) and it shows me embracing my own uniqueness (i know im not the most skilled for descriptions lol) (16x20)
slide 2: Art project for the theme "self portrait". this was add at a point in my life where i felt stuck and just behind my peers, like i wasn't progressing or growing, and i kind of wanted to make it payful (and also i was really into block blast at the time). and for this i used gouache and prismacolors. (18x24)
slide 3: This was my most recent project, the theme in my art class was just "doorway to another dimension", and I wanted to depict how i felt lost in myself at this point in my life and how i would always joke "i wish i was a kid again!" especially since it's finals season💀 but as i grow older and change environments and friends (yeah i immigrated with my family from singapore to america when i was like 11...) I feel like I stopped being authentic to myself in a way, so I'm looking back at the past and wishing i had that while i fade into the scene (oof🥹) Anyways i used acyrlics for this, also made it through the midst of an art block and finals season💀 (16x20) (also inspired by creating.sophie on instagram!)

Am I doing alright for a 16 year old who wants to get into art school but has never been crutiqued by anyone outside of family and friends?😭
