Are SAVE due dates affected by the May 5th deadline?

If we submitted the paperwork to enroll in SAVE, and received a notice that we need to make our first payment by like July or else you go into default, is the date they gave us effected by the May 5th deadline? I haven’t made an actual payment plan or made the first payment yet…and I unfortunately have not been able to get through on the phone, of course. Anyone know?
