ED secondary to PTSD

I have a private doctor treating me for ED, but am about to give all my records over to the VA healthcare to add my diagnosis in and hopefully be treated there. If my private Dr. isn’t writing a nexus connecting my ED to PTSD how would I go about getting it connected since all the meds made everything worse.
