Dog has had a skin tag for years, but we noticed he must have been scratching/chewing it lately

Information:

• 8 years old
• Labradoodle
• USA
• Skin tag has been present for at least 3 years, which the vet has never been concerned by

We noticed a clump of hairs coming out of one spot on the skin tag, which we pulled out. Just wondering how long to wait to call the vet if it doesn’t look better soon.
