I’m in despair because I have no other choices left for my pain. Anyone with migraines with aura on Nextstellis? What’s your experience on it?

Experience

I know migraine with aura is a contraindication for estrogen but apparently this is being reviewed by newer studies especially regarding low dose estrogen and bioidentical estrogen like estetrol and I wanna discuss Nextstellis with my doctor since my aura migraines are exclusively menstrual and I’ve been on ethinylestradiol before without worsening of my migraines. They actually improved because I didn’t bleed anymore. I also don’t have other risk factors and I’m negative for thrombophilia (I got genetic screening + coagulation profile tests done). I didn’t do well on progestin-only methods, already tried all of them. I bleed irregularly (sometimes twice within 3 weeks) and consequently have frequent aura migraine episodes on Slynd. Androgenic progestin-only Cerazette gave me severe, cystic acne. Hair loss. I’m not risking the IUD or the implant because of my unfavorable bleeding pattern on progestin-only and side effects from androgenic progestin. Didn’t do well on a copper IUD, got it removed after one year since there was no improvement in side effects (including anemia). I have endometriosis, PMDD, polycystic ovaries and I’ve been suffering without a solution. Doctors refuse a hysterectomy. I don’t wanna get my tubes tied because I’ll face all the risks of an abdominal surgery without any cycle control and pain management benefits, it’s only for birth control and I barely have sex because I’m OCD and I have STI and pregnancy obsession-compulsion. I’ve been miserable and I think I’d rather face the very small risk of a stroke than being forced to live in a hell like this.
