What’s your daycare’s approach to potty training.

Toddler 1-3 Years

Daughter (will be 3 in 2 weeks), randomly took her diaper off Friday evening and said she wanted to use toilet. we weren’t pushing the potty training because our first attempt three months ago it was clear she wasn’t ready. But since she asked, we went along with it and Through the weekend she has been in underwear aside from pull-ups during nap time and at night. We had three accidents total from Friday night-Sunday night. I love the momentum she has going right now. I think it’s clicking, but we obviously expect more accidents to come, possible regressions, etc here and there through next month or two to the point of her being reliably potty trained.

She goes to an in home daycare. We love our provider. She is willing to have her come in underwear tomorrow with plenty of changes in clothing and see what happens. If the accidents are too frequent, she said she will have to put her in a pull up. I think this is reasonable. Obviously, two parents at home, with a child who are 100% attentive to her potty training is different than one daycare provider with multiple kids. We absolutely get it.

We are just wondering- what is your daycares policy? How do you balance the weekdays and getting a reliably potty trained kid to daycare without them having too many accidents and heading back to diapers at daycare? Is this something parents take off work for to focus on? (Not against necessarily, jw).
