Kenzie’s past

The amount of racism that has come from most of the cast is astounding and should actually be studied. And I honestly think that it sheds light on a bigger issue in this country. I don’t think that the entire cast is blatantly racist I just think that they are extremely ignorant and were very uneducated about what’s appropriate to say and do when it comes to other races. But I do think that a few of them are/were a bit prejudice and fell into stereotyping. So I’m going to try to work my way through the cast and their racist controversies if they have any. Let me know if I’ve missed anything.

Abby: No comment we all know. Enough said.

The Ziegler’s: while we don’t see any clear racism from Melissa, we see a decent amount from Maddie and Kenzie, especially Kenzie. We’ve seen Maddie and Kenzie say the N word in a song, and Maddie being very racist towards the Asian community in a video(both of them were kids in this so I blame the adults) but in more recent time we’ve seen Kenzie do blackface, defend her racists boyfriends when saying racial slurs, and in a leaked message we see her pulling her eyes back saying she looks like a (insert slur used towards the Asian community that starts with a c)

The Lukasiaks: Chloe posted a photo at a plantation and called it beautiful, and instead of facing her mistake she deleted comments and the photo when people were offended. And as for Christi, we’ve seen her use micro aggressions and be very stereotypical

The Vertes’s: Kendall is in that same video with Maddie I mentioned before and she supports trump, who is a known racist. Same with Jill but like Christi she’s also used micro aggressions and has been very stereotypical.

The Hylands: There is a video of Brooke IN COLLEGE saying the n word in a song. And during trumps first term Paige was heavily supporting him in her socials. And as for Kelly, she’s very ignorant when it comes to this stuff and she says some things that are stereotypical, and once again we have the micro aggressions.

Cathy: she did a build a wall dance…

The Fraizers: while not racist, Holly definitely was an enabler and would be more inclined to turn a blind eye when it’s someone else. We see this with the mistreatment of Kaya in season two and unpopular opinion but I honestly saw this in Nia with the mistreatment of Camryn. But Holly saw Nia do those racist dances and she basically let Nia be the token black kid

Now before you side eye me, I’m an African American woman who loves dance moms so it’s really disappointing to see this come from the cast. Now I do believe that people can grow and change and I do believe that some of the cast has grown and changed. Now im not into politics and I didn’t even vote this term cause I’m definitely in the middle, but one thing I can’t deny is that trump is definitely a racist and by supporting him you also support that ideal. And I feel like the moms/ girls that do support him unconditionally and heck, everyone who has had an issue with being racially ignorant were uneducated because they didn’t have to be educated. A lot of white Americans, especially ones who grow up in the suburbs never really had to think about racial equity and I’ve seen that ignorance more as I’ve gotten older and I’ve seen how different some of them think due to their upbringing. And I do think it’s up to them to learn and properly educate themselves when it’s brought to their attention that they’ve done something offensive.
