I feel violated by AT&T Sales Slime that showed up before the technician and faked his way into my home!

AT&T customer for years and years. I was having trouble with my fiber modem/router randomly rebooting. I called for support and after doing some tests, they told me I'd need an onsite visit and scheduled it for yesterday between noon and four. About 11:50, I get a call from a number with AT&T caller ID. Expecting it to be the technician, I answered and was asked if my apartment number was 53C or 57C. I confirmed that it was 53C.

Fast forward a few minutes and there's a knock on my door. I think that he might have said he was something something AT&T rep. Guy says that there's some confusion about my apartment number but that he would get it sorted out. Still expecting and thinking that this was the technician, I let him into my apartment and pointed him at the misbehaving router. He was tapping on his phone and said he needed to confirm my id by using my pin. The pin I had in my password wallet didn't work, but he asked me one of the security questions which I had the answer for and he said he was in the account and would fix the apartment number. About this time the technician called and said he was on his way. I was confused, but ok, maybe this is he supervisor/manager or something.... I shoulda known what was up.

Then Sales Slime asked me what kind of work I do, and I gave him a general answer. He acted like he was working on something on his phone for a minute. Then he asked me what I used the Internet for. I was confused by this question and brushed it off. Then he asked where I worked. I told him I wasn't comfortable with this conversation and I asked him why he was querying me. He said that he was trying to figure out if he could offer me any deals.

At this point the penny dropped and I knew what was happening. I told him that I was not interested in a sales call, and that it was time for him to leave. He kept interacting with his phone, and I told him. NO! IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO LEAVE! He started walking toward the door. but on the way, said, I can only offer you twenty percent off on wireless. I'm all, "Get the fuck outta here!" And he left.

Screw you AT&T for sending out Sales Slime when I'm expecting a technician!!! SCREW YOU! I let some abhorrent piece of dog doodoo into my HOME. Under false pretenses! Does this ever work out good for you guys? The tech when he arrived was great, and said they hate having the account guys show up before or during service visits because people are so angry about it.

I cancelled AT&T and now have cheaper less slimy service from google. It was a joy leaving AT&T with a 3 word answer to all their retention questions: sneaky underhanded dishonest.

TLDR: I called for support with my Internet router. AT&T sent a piece of dog poop sales guy that I let into my home because I was expecting a tech. Shame on you AT&T!
