Retroid Pocket Classic Gamepad issues

So im trying out a ton of android games(indies) on the classic and so far all of them have ran and looked great but several of them arent detecting my gamepad and im not sure how to fix it? So far, Slay the Spire, Into the Breach, Dungeons of Aether are the culprits, even though all 3 should definitely work fine with a gamepad.

Bonus question :

Is there an app I can use to remap the joystick on games to my D-pad on the classic? A couple of other indies I got work fine but dont seem to have built in remapping to simply move the stick over to the D Pad so I can play them
