How do you "treat" plants?

I'm preparing to rescape my tank and will be getting new plants online. I was lucky on my first batch of plants from different sources online as they thankfully only had snail hitchhikers and not some sort of parasites or diseases but now I'm about to welcome a batch of baby shrimps and I worry about everything. So... how do you make sure the plants don't have anything harmful on it?
