Getting annoyed with the lack of education of others - anyone else?
I know this is going to sound petty or silly but I truly can’t take it anymore.
No matter how many times I explain what celiac is and what gluten is to to others, even my own father, they can never remember and end up offering me a slice of cake or pizza.
It’s so small in the moment to them I’m sure, but after 15 years with this disease I’m starting to snip at people and get extremely frustrated.
Does anyone else relate to this? It’s getting harder to be understanding when this has impacted my life so drastically throughout my life. People still think it’s a choice that I’m gluten free even when I explain it, or that I’m being dramatic about cross contamination or something and it’s infuriating, even long time friends and family
Sorry for the rant I think after all these years I’m just exhausted and lonely in this and wanted to reach out here
