Battery powered chainsaw

I just went to my local Stihl distributor (also ace hardware) and every option they had in stock was battery powered. I’ve used a Stihl gas chainsaw forever and not sure what to think about the battery option. I’m not using it for work, just maintaining a small acreage with small trees and brush. Do I special order the gas power or will the battery work?
