hyperspecific self-tanner question

hey all! I'm a high school senior getting my senior pics done/ready for prom, but I have a noticeable farmer's tan and my dress reeeeeally highlights it. Anyone have any recommendations for very moderate, super beginner-friendly self-tanner products I could use to help a little? Even if it wasn't perfect, I'd take anything that improved the situation.

Relevant facts: I'm pretty fair, but not like redhead-level (no offense to any redheads out there :) I'm willing to go a shade or so darker overall if necessary, but don't want to do anything that would look unnatural or, heaven forbid, orange

The dress is white, so anything that would come off on it when I wear it is out. The dress is kind of an heirloom (it belonged to a family member), so I am kind of hung ho on this.

Also, I've literally never used self-tanner before....

Any advice at all would be helpful tbh lol
