Dad or Step dad?

Relationships/Family

I am just starting to plan my wedding for next spring. I have always struggled with the question, who will walk me down the aisle at my wedding/who do I dance with for the father daughter dance/who does the father of the bride speech?

My dad and I had a really rough relationship when I was growing up. He was kind of neglectful emotionally, spoke badly to me and my siblings about our mom (they divorced when I was really young) and was really negatively influenced by his second wife which created a really negative environment for me when I was a teenager. We didn't speak for many years, but we actually have a really great relationship now. I don't really view him as a father figure, more like a really cool uncle/male family member.

My step dad came into my life when I was 10, and he is wholly the reason I have such an amazing life as an adult. He is the best thing that ever happened to me and my mom, truly. I have always seen him as a father figure, and he refers to me as his daughter, full stop.

I love both my dad and my step dad. I am probably the only opportunity my dad will have to do the "father of the bride" responsibilities, while my step dad has a bio daughter that I'm sure will one day get married.

Any experience with something similar would be appreciated!!!
