2000s Commuter Hybrid to ATB
The original owner of this bike bought in when he was a PhD student in California. It's been brought back and forth from east to west coast and back several times, including once since it was given to me. I've had it for a few years but started riding it more last summer. As I started going on longer rides, I found it uncomfortable. I seriously considered buying a new bike, but decided to try to save some money and upgrade this one instead with a focus on building it up to do light duty touring/bikepacking (ex: Erie Canal trail, Finger Lakes Overnighter, PA Grand Canyon, etc.). Ended up spending much more than planned, doing some work myself but ultimately brought it to my LBS for a deluxe tune up and fit. Let me know what you think of the result!
