Ryegrass vs KBG

Hi all, im new the sub but wanted to ask about ryegrass vs KBG. From what I've seen so far on the sub, everyone says KBG and I'm just curious why that is or if I've just not been around enough. I recently over seeded with a mix of 70/20/10 (rye, tall fescue, KBG) and wondering if I should change up when I overseed in the fall.

For what it's worth, I live in north jersey and have kids that love to be outside, so I want a lawn that can take a bit of a beating.
