is there a wrong way to order words in a sentence?
Is there a correct order in which words should be written so that the sentence makes most sense to a reader?
Example:
- At the sight of her blood the attacker withdrew his sword.
- The attacker withdrew his sword at the sight of her blood.
Is one of the sentences more "correct" than the other or is it just preference? Is one easier to understand and if so why? I want to make sure I am writing the majority of my sentences in the most palatable way possible so that when I revise my work there is less to change.
