22F, Am I in heart failure?
After getting the flu 3 months ago ive been consistently SOB, have a high HR and chest pain. Cardiologist ordered a MRI bc echo levels were a “little low”. Got my results back but no word from doctor yet so please let me know your interpretation.
QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS: LEFT VENTRICLE: Ant. Sep. Wall thickness: 0.6 cm (0.7-1.2) Post. Lat Wall thickness: 0.5 cm (0.7-1.2) ED dimension: 4.8 cm (3.7-5.3) ES dimension: 4 cm Left atrial dimension: 2.6 cm (1.9-4.0) LV EDV: 115 ml LV ESV: 55 ml LV SV: 61 ml LV EF: 52% (50-70) Cardiac output: 4.4 l/min Cardiac index: 3.1 l/min/m2 (2.6-4.2) Heart rate: 85 bpm LV EDV index: 80 ml/m2 (50-84) LV ESV index: 38 ml/m2 (17-37) LV stroke volume index: 36 ml/m2 (30-65) RIGHT VENTRICLE: RV EDV: 113 ml RV ESV: 61 ml RV SV: 52 ml RV EF: 46% (50-70) RV EDVI: 78 ml/m2 (62-88) RV ESVI: 42 ml/m2 (19-30) FINDINGS: SVC: Normal and right-sided. IVC: Normal and right-sided. Right atrium: Normal volume Right ventricle: The right ventricle is normal in size. There is normal regional and global systolic right ventricular function with an ejection fraction of 46%. Pulmonary arteries: Normal caliber main pulmonary artery. There is no large central embolus. Pulmonary veins: No varix, stenosis, or anomalous return. Left atrium: Normal volume without a filling defect. Left ventricle: The left ventricle is normal in size. The left ventricle is normal in thickness. There is normal regional and global systolic left ventricular function with an ejection fraction of 52%. There is no evidence for late gadolinium enhancement to suggest myocarditis, infiltrative disease or prior infarct. Aortic valve: There is a tricuspid aortic valve. There is no evidence for aortic stenosis. There is mild aortic regurgitation with an estimated regurgitant volume of less than 10 mL. Aorta: The aortic root measures 3.0 cm. Pericardium: No effusion, thickening, or abnormal enhancement Mediastinum: No mass or adenopathy. Lungs: No pleural effusion or abnormal signal in the lung fields. Abdomen: Visualized upper abdomen is unremarkable. IMPRESSION: 1. The left ventricle is normal in size. The left ventricle is normal in thickness. There is normal regional and global systolic left ventricular function with an ejection fraction of 52%. There is no evidence for late gadolinium enhancement to suggest myocarditis, infiltrative disease or prior infarct. 2. The right ventricle is normal in size. There is normal regional and global systolic right ventricular function with an ejection fraction of 46%. 3. There is a tricuspid aortic valve. There is no evidence for aortic stenosis. There is mild aortic regurgitation with an estimated regurgitant volume of less than 10 mL.
