How do I change the Horse Armor texture?

The title says it all. Specifically, though, I'm wondering if there's a way to do it through blockbench, or if I've got to do it by editing the image of the texture itself. I'm rather new to resource/texture pack making, so apologies if this is something simple to the professionals.
