Reporting metrics fraud to ethics
I’m seriously frustrated with our store’s “no nil picking” policy and I’m considering reporting it, but I’m not sure if it’s even worth the effort. I’ve seen mixed feedback from other employees. Some say reporting helped, others say nothing came of it. But at this point, I feel exhausted and stuck.
Lately, we’re being told not to nil pick or skip items under any circumstances, even more aggressively than before. During weekly team meetings, we’re criticized for both low FTPR and low pick rates, yet we’re expected to stop mid-walk and wait for a coach or team lead to approve every single nil pick. It’s unrealistic and ridiculous and makes me feel like I am going insane because of the way my team leads act like it is a reasonable process. Just one trip to the backroom can tank your entire pick rate. And when you have to stop every few minutes to track someone down or try to find and VizPick boxes in our disorganized and disheveled bins, it slows everything down, causes chilled runs to time out, and wastes everyone’s time. I’ve even had to walk entire sections again with a TL just so they could “double-check” that I didn’t miss anything, despite already checking thoroughly. I’ve tried transferring to a friend’s walmart that is actually organized and chill about nil-picking multiple times, but they do not seem interested in hiring me. If anyone has reported this and actually seen results, what did you say? How did you word things so that ethics took it seriously? Thanks
