Question on Biovore and Neurotyrant

Me and my buddies were playing last night. I have my biovore in the back. There are units my termagants have line of sight on. They aren’t within 6” for synapse. Can I still shoot them? Or is it just an automatic fail? Because of the ignore cover is an automatic fail, D3 rolls. Then with my nerotyrant it has ignores cover. Does that mean he sees through walls?
