Has anyone planted a creeping thyme and clover lawn?

I’m in the PNW zone 8b with an abundance of giant evergreen trees. We’ve been attempting a clover lawn for a year now. It’s grown in super full in some places, but we have several blank patches in both sunny and shady areas of the yard. I like the idea of mixing ground covers with the clover and am curious if anyone has done this in their yard and how it turned out. Do you have any pointers? Pictures would be more than welcome, too!
