UK musical theatre BA/MA… help

Ok so I’m just finishing A levels this year, and I’m preparing to go to UCL to study next year. I’ve always wanted to go to drama school, but my parents really don’t want me to - and they’re the ones financially supporting me so I really don’t have much choice. However, I still want to at some point - is it possible to do an MA in musical theatre without having done a theatre related degree? Of course, I have always been practising/performing as much as one can while not being in drama school, and will continue to do so outside of studying at unj, but I just don’t know what the level required is to get into an MA musical theatre course - I dont know if I will have the level of skills required to get in. I don’t even know if one year of training at drama school would be enough to prepare me for a potential career in musical theatre. I don’t even know how I would pay for a master’s year but me going to uni in the first place is kinda on the condition that I can go and do something drama related after.

So, basically, if anyone has and advice/experience or anything that could help, please let me know!
