96-00 Honda Civic

I’m looking to get an ek civic (1996-2000) specifically either an si or an ex model (coupe or sedan). I’ve been searching through Facebook marketplace and want to get a civic with V-TEC but I am having trouble trying to figure out if they have V-TEC or not. I heard some people say that you can tell by looking at the valve cover and it should have DOHC and V-TEC on it but I keep seeing civic with just the basic HONDA valve cover but in the listing they say it has V-TEC. Is there a way to truly see if a car has V-TEC besides the valve cover?
