would it be wrong to back out?

i committed to my state uni before receiving my acceptance to UVA and already paid the deposit. would it be wrong to back out and accept another offer? deposit was $100 so idm if it’s non refundable.

im still waiting for more decisions to come out but idk if it’ll release before UVA commitment deadline (May 15) 😭 if i end up getting accepted into my top choice after the deadline, ill prob back out of UVA too. will i face any repercussions if i back out twice?
