In the clear?

Four weeks ago today I found an adult female bedbug crawling on the side of my sofa in the mid morning. A week before that we had been away on vacation and did not notice any signs (although we were not really looking).

After finding the bug my partner and I thoroughly searched the apartment and did not find anything. We also have not noticed bites and we have white bedding and have not seen blood stains. I have been washing the bedding and vacuuming furniture weekly. We have also since moved from that building (high rise condo) to a new apartment. While moving we further inspected our belongings and did not find any signs.

I feel confident that we do not have an infestation and that this bug was picked up from our vacation or transit or wandered in from a neighbouring apartment. However if this bug had laid eggs (~1 month ago) would we be seeing signs at this point? It is more than likely that at least me or my partner would react to the bites and that there would be blood spots on the bedding I would think?
