Feeling demotivated and lost

I’ve been trying to lose weight since years now but I’ve never been consistent with it. However that has lead to me eating around 1200 calories everyday for almost a year or more. I used to portion control a lot and eventually I got used to it and eating more than that felt difficult. I’m 24 F 164cm and currently 59-60kgs. I’ve always been 56-60 kgs since high school. I was never overweight but I had/have a little bit of body dysmorphia so I kept telling myself I was very overweight.

Uni is very hectic for me so I find it difficult to exercise and because I used to eat less I was always weak and tired and craved a lot of junk food. Since a week or two I’ve been trying to eat more and I’ve cut out processed food. I don’t usually drink sodas or sugary drinks. I don’t know what else to cut out.

I can still do some home workouts once in a while but right now, it feels like I’m never going to lose weight. I lack discipline and because it takes so long to see results, I get demotivated. I want to lose 7-8 kgs and this is just for aesthetic reasons. Also because I have too much body fat and need a lot of muscle. I know I have to eat more protein and I’m trying to. I don’t live in a very walkable city so its difficult for me to get my 10k steps in. I know my motivation isn’t strong enough but it genuinely matters a lot to me and not making any progress is really dragging me down.

Any advice from people who haven’t gone to the gym to lose weight?
