wheel spacers

so im wanting to get aftermarket rims for my 1999 dodge dakota 4wd but the lug pattern is 6x4.5” and i want to get adapter plates to go to chevy pattern 6x5.5” but i dont really want them because ive heard bad things like weel bearings mainly and im wondering what brand/type of metal to get, curious if anybody has suggestions
