50th Anniversary

This has perhaps been discussed already (if there is a thread link, please let me know) but are there any details at all about what the 50th anniversary for Star Wars has planned? I'm guessing, maybe, we'll see a re-release of the first movie in its original incarnation, with the original scrolling prologue (i.e., no episode number, no "A New Hope")? Maybe actual reels of film at exhibitors?

I would definitely like to see that. I'd also love to see re-releases of the original merchandise, with original packaging graphics, etc. The comics from Marvel that were around at the time could also see a 50th edition.

Wouldn't mind some new stuff as well. Imagine a Star Wars video game but done as a Lucasarts point/click title, like Maniac Mansion - I think that would sell a lot.

I don't know precisely what was available at the time, but wasn't there merchandise sold at theaters during movie runs? Recreating that atmosphere would be great too, with a mixture of old/new material. And let me say too, bringing back the original Topps cards would be great (although, perhaps that has already been done; honestly not an expert on the franchise, just a casual fan who is getting older and nostalgic as the time comes).

It is going to be interesting to see how Disney/Lucasfilm plays this out. There is money to be made. I don't know what the top-selling thing will be, but I imagine plans were already in the works even a few years ago.
