ecs location
so i (rising junior) live in smack dab in the middle of a suburban neighborhood, at least a 15 min drive away from anything interesting. this has been a problem mainly cuz of ecs, because my parents hate driving me anywhere. (don't get me started on that, cuz you guys clearly care a LOT about my college education, but driving me places is too much trouble?) My school alone is 20 mins away, so staying after school w/o an okay from my siblings or on weekends is a lot of trouble. I literally had to pass up applying to NHS this year because my parents couldn't drive me to all the events, and i also missed my ap test reviews.
i'm too worried about the latter, but my ecs are definitely my weakest spot. i (a californian,) am getting my permit soon, and i should get my liscence by about march next year, when i'm a junior, but i'm worried there won't be much more school ecs i can do. i've considered public transportation (nonexistent), taxis (way too expensive), carpooling (this has worked a little before, but again my school is crazy far and so are most people who go there.) it's not like i can say i don't have the resources, either; my family makes a fair amount of money and we have two cars. my parents just don't want to (can't?) drive me.
what should i do? are any online opportunities i should consider? and the same questions in case i cannot get a liscence by then.
