Advice with a Unique situation?
So, I had a couple syringes, golden teacher and B+, I was somewhere that is not home, and had to travel home. But I had my wife and newborn baby with me so I didn't want to take the risk of traveling with the syringes to Georgia which is one of the only states where the spores are an issue. Georgia PoPo are very unforgiving. But we had a temporary enclosure for our ball python with us, so I inoculated that substrate before we drove home (the snake was at that point in a pillow case in an insulated box, not with the substrate). It is a mixture of about 50% organic soil, and 50% peat moss mix (it had some moisture for the snake but not too wet). There's some small sticks n stuff in there. It was more or less a hail-mary to be safe but still have a chance at the grow last minute. There are some Springtails in there for the snake's health but not a ton.( i have even heard about some people using spring tails to keep out contam and other fungi)
It has been 2 weeks, there are signs of colonization starting to surface from where I put the GT spores. The B+ hasn't surfaced yet.
What should I do with it now? Should I add vermiculite to the surface? Mix some in? Wait and see if it pins on it's own? What do you guys think I should do?
