Perineal branch

Can pudendal neuralgia be caused by damage to the perineal branch at the end point? Mine started with a prolapse which stretched out the perineum. I then had surgery to correct this (perennial repair) and the trauma from that has made the much pain worse and caused partial numbness. If this is the case, then I guess there’s no helping me? Or is the pain in the perennial area being caused by the nerve being trapped higher up making it more sensitive? This is all so confusing 🫤
