Struggling to get my island to 3 stars

I think my island is stuck because I can’t seem to find any more fruit trees. I’ve gone to mystery island crazy amount non stop for the last few days and can’t find any new fruit at all!! It’s getting frustrating, is my search pointless? Do I have to have Nintendo online & visit other people in order to obtain all the fruit or should I keep up with the mystery island hunt?
