My dad kissed my 3 week old on the nose and he has a cold sore

Hello Reddit docs. An unfortunate situation unfolded today with my family and I wanted some advice. We are calling our doctor in the morning but wanted to get some better info sooner than later or find out if this is more urgent.

My dad has a small cold sore that is scabbed. We didn’t notice it until we left their house, but there it was. He didn’t know of the risks and kissed our 3 week old baby girl on the nose and the forehead a few times. Quick pecks, but kisses nonetheless. How much concern should we have for what will happen next? Is transmission guaranteed? Is serious infection guaranteed? We simply have no idea what we may be up against. Once we found out my wife immediately used alcohol-based sanitizer and wiped her face, but obviously that might not do much.
