What to do with nest?

I hope I’m in the right place here. Right outside our front door, we have a little decorative stand and a small vase looking thing on it. It seems a little birdie has made that their home and built a nest inside. There are two problems: lots of bird shit on our front porch and my dog almost got the bird once. So, I’m not sure what the humane thing to do is? There are no eggs or anything. Can I move the nest somewhere else? Will the bird find it? If the vase thing is disposed of with the nest, is it easy for a bird to build another nest somewhere else? Or will the bird eventually just move somewhere else eventually? I don’t want to fuck the bird’s life up or anything.
